Body Type Supplements

The best way to virtually guarantee you are getting the exact nutrition your body needs is to take a custom supplement formulated for your distinct body type.  Go to www.findyourbodytype.com and take the test to find out what body type you have and then follow the supplement course designed for your body.  These are formulated to get your body healthy again – and no, you should not have to take them for the rest of your life!  If you have a healthy body, you will be absorbing key nutrients from food…therefore, not requiring any supplements (and this is your real goal!)…plus; once you regain your health, you’ll also reestablish your body’s natural tendency to burn excess fat (think easy, “permanent” weight loss – at last!!).

The body type supplement program is based on formulas extracted from whole foods and made specifically to support the characteristics of your body type.  There are 4 different body types and each has it own distinct characteristics and needs.

Substitute and Back-up Plans

As the Boy Scout’s motto goes, “Be Prepared”…likewise this applies to other areas of life – especially when it comes to the goal of weight loss.

Before you embark upon a new diet, new health goal, new commitment, or decision; take these two simple words to heart and make sure you are prepared to really get results (this time).  Start by identifying your weakness zones – call it the “willpower vacuum zones” (as in, my willpower “sucks” in these areas) – here’s some examples:

-          In front of the TV

-          Sitting at your computer surfing or answering emails, etc.

-          Driving your car

-          Reading a book or magazine in your favorite chair, etc.

For me, losing 30 lbs in 9 weeks was not an easy feat.  But setting the goal, making the decision and getting myself prepared to meet success in this area, once and for all – was paramount.  I had (let’s say) “challenges” with each of these “zones”!  And without a backup plan – in most cases where my mouth was simply bored (for lack of a better description), I would find myself subjected to uncontrollable cravings surging through my body…then what seemed to be, involuntary twitches leading inevitably to suicidal and forbidden food leaping kamikaze-style into my mouth (where there’s no where to go but down)…okay, just kidding.  But you get the idea – know your zones, and be prepared!  These zones could easily have been the demise of my best intentions, and they were (in my past attempts to lose weight).

For TV and the internet, I armed myself with celery, lettuce, sugar free hot chocolate, sugar free fat free mocha, diet root beer, or a green tea.  The hot drinks seemed to be most satisfying because it took time to finish them and they were soothing as well as filling.  So before I reached for something else, I first made myself have a mocha (this is semi-sweet, creamy and satisfying).

For reading a book, on the rare occasion that both of my kids were asleep and I was too tired to do anything else – I would drink a soda and finally changed that to plain old sparkling water (not entirely plain – the bubbles do help!).  I also tried lemonade made from lemon juice and splenda – that worked well too.

Driving the car was a different story.  I decided to call my mom or one of my sisters (even if I had talked to them three times already that day!).  I couldn’t have food in the car because snacking was too easy to do – and for whatever reason; it was sort of fun (I know, that sounds strange!).  Anyway, my mom was a “manners Nazi” when I was growing up. One upside to that is that now, as an adult, if my mouth is busy talking I can’t possibly think about putting something tasty in it at the same time! Thanks Mom!!

The list goes on and on, and each of us will have our own custom fit version. The important thing to remember about losing weight is to plan your strategy and be prepared to overcome your weaknesses BEFORE you begin your battle!  Just like in most games you play and intend to win, when it comes to weight loss; offense is definitely your BEST form of defense!  Be prepared!

Safe Organic Foods

Organic foods are grown by using natural resources like animal dung, dried leaves, plant base matter, animal manure, and many other natural materials.

In other words, organic foods means foods those are in accordance with specific production standards. They do not have customary pesticides sprayed on them, they have not been cultivated with manmade fertilizer or dirt trash, and they do not have food additives as well.

Day 32: Atkin Diet

Okay, I  have NOT effectively engaged “real” fat burning (ouch – that hurts just to write it).  In fact, the foods I am eating…wow – I forgot some of the most basic diet laws!  A calorie is NOT just a calorie when it comes to getting rid of fat (i.e., cellulite, mush, etc.).  Forget my stew recipe altogether – those vegetables are full of carbs and sugars and as for my previous idea on butternut squash (the most heavenly of all diet food) – I was wrong! (at least for people who are really trying to burn fat, not just get healthy).

Here’s the scoop (I am going to attach an article that sums it up here too) – basically in order to really get your body into ketosis (a fancy word for “fat burning”), you have to trigger hormones.  This, from what I know, does not happen in “just two weeks” and I am on a deadline here!  So…an alternative… ”trick” the hormones until they get balanced on their own.  In other words,  get your body burning fat by giving it no other choice.  Now if I eat carbs or sugar, this will get burned BEFORE fat for energy….soooo no carbs.  No sugars.  (Basically the Atkins diet)  – We’re talking less than 20 grams of carbs of a day (this quickly works out to zero if you figure that even veges have some carb values). And this doesn’t mean you can eat endless amounts of protein though either …I’m posting the diet here.

Starting tomorrow!  About three weeks to go, and counting.

Day 31: Trick to getting more energy!

I started with egg whites this morning, and a few pieces of turkey.  I ate a chicken breast for lunch, had some turkey.  Had 6 cups of mocha (sugar free, fat free, 2 carbs per serving), 2 cups of lettuce with some olive oil, more turkey and about a cup of hamburger.

I just finished adding up my calories and I can’t believe they were ONLY 1400!!!  I have felt like I have been eating something all day – but the great thing was, I wasn’t hungry and I didn’t feel run down.

I think this diet is a winner!

Day 26: Sleepless

Today I have survived my diet by virtually living on sugar free, fat free hot chocolate (a new diet discovery that is only 30 calories and seems to curb my sugar and carb cravings).

I slept horrible last night.

Day 14: Day Off

Excellent day!  Worked out, ate only 1400 calories and never starved…but I DID cheat a little with some fat free hotdogs (I had THREE at 40 calories each)…but the taste was totally worth it.  I didn’t eat the buns –

It’s been 14 days and it feels like only 5.  I am thinking about just taking a day off to eat all of my favorite foods because I have been so good (smile).  I was thinking about doing that today because I can actually feel my body IS healthier and more toned (already!)…so I do I deserve a “day off”.  You know it’s strange though, I don’t want to break my record!!!  I just can’t do it!

I have eaten nearly perfect for two weeks!  Hurray!
